It’s the first of the month, and that means free games. If you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, you can already get two free games for PS4: Resogun and Contrast. I’m super jealous because I’m not getting any of the new consoles anytime soon, mostly because I have a really awesome gaming laptop. Contrast looks amazing though. As far as your free PS3 games go, you get Ibb & Obb, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, and Binary Domain. On PS Vita, you can download Soul Sacrifice and Oddworld: Strangers Wrath for free.
Here lately, PlayStation Plus has been offering up some less popular RPGs each month for free, which I think is great. Last month, Kingdoms of Amalaur was free, which I played on XB360 and I thought it was great. I’d really like to play it again on PS3. I’ve also played the original Dragon’s Dogma when it first came out and liked it, so I’ll be downloading that as soon as possible. Since RPGs are my favorite genre of games, I’ve been thinking of doing regular articles on them, so thank you Sony for giving me free games to write about.
Let’s look and see what we get for free for subscribing to Xbox Live…A World of Keflings and Iron Brigade? Now, let’s keep a positive attitude about it. From November 1 – 15, A World of Keflings will be free, then November 16 – 30, Iron Brigade will be free. I just wish that Microsoft’s free game choices were a mix between major titles and Arcade games. Lately it seems like all the free games are either Arcade games or old launch titles. This month’s Games for Gold titles aren’t hardly worth wrestling my Xbox 360 away from my boyfriend while he’s trying to play Battlefield 4. I think this month, PlayStation Plus won the best free games title, much like they will every month until the end of time.
I also enjoyed Kingdoms of Amalur. Dragon’s Dogma, not so much. I’m also not getting a “next gen” console because my laptop blows the PS4, and Xbox One out of the water in specs and i’m not in any rush to get either console because all the games I really want are coming out for PC anyway.
